I do go places with other people (more so now as I limited with driving) but my preference is alone. You do get some weird looks but that doesn't worry me so much. I loved your Jim experience. I remember it was an afternoon show on a weekend in the late spring. The worst part about it was not having that post-film convo afterward. Oddly, I cannot recall which movie it was.
